DSC01737.JPGWellspring Mi-Kis

Mi-Kis (Mee kee) are a small, non-shedding, “milk and honey” natured dogs.  They are totally devoted to their owners - the ultimate lap dog.  All they want is to be with you and love you unconditionally.  Good with young and old alike they also make wonderful therapy dogs.  Some are great at agility competition and obedience. A bonus is that they are also quiet in disposition, although they do chortle and yodel to express themselves. Once you know one you are sure to be enchanted by them.

The Mi-Ki strain originated in the 1980's in Milwaukee, WI. The original strain was started using the Shih Tzu, Maltese, Papillion, Yorkshire Terrier and the Japanese Chin.  It has taken careful breeding to bring out the most desirable traits from all of these breeds to give us the Mi-Ki of today.  The Mi-Ki is an intelligent, calm, and affectionate dog. They have been bred to be a loving companion for the young and old.   Generally, the Mi-Kis are quiet little dogs only barking when the need arises. They are adaptable to any situation, easy to train, and exceptional around children and the elderly. Many have done very well with special needs children. Being a special pal that does not judge but is always there for you.

The Mi-Ki has a long, silky, non-shed coat that makes it easy to groom. Usually with brushing twice a week.

Their small size makes them great apartment dogs and they are able to get most of the exercise they require just following you at your heels. The average height is 8-9 inches at the shoulders and their average weight is 5-10 lbs.s
